A quick, nourishing, and halal-friendly Spicy Tuna Rice Bowl that balances flavor and nutrition, perfect for busy parents and professionals craving a restaurant-quality sushi bowl at home.

Ingredients

Scale

10 oz Canned Skipjack or Albacore Tuna
3 cups Cooked Jasmine or Basmati Rice
3 tbsp Halal Mayonnaise
2 tbsp Sriracha Sauce
1 tbsp Tamari (Halal Soy Sauce)
1 tsp Lemon Juice
0.5 tsp Sesame Oil
1 medium Cucumber
1 large Avocado
2 stalks Green Onions
1 tsp Sesame Seeds

Instructions

  1. Scoop the warm, cooked rice into four separate bowls, ensuring the base is fluffy and light
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the well-drained tuna, halal mayonnaise, sriracha, and tamari. Stir until the tuna is fully coated
  3. Stir in the fresh lemon juice and sesame oil to provide a bright, nutty aroma
  4. Place a generous scoop of the spicy tuna mixture over the center of the rice in each bowl
  5. Arrange the diced or sliced cucumber and thinly sliced avocado beside the tuna
  6. Garnish the top of each bowl with finely chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds
  7. Optional: Drizzle with a little extra sriracha or tamari for a bolder flavor experience

Notes

Always drain your canned tuna very well to prevent the rice from becoming soggy.

Short-grain rice can be substituted if you prefer a stickier, more authentic sushi texture.

Ensure all sauces, especially mayonnaise and tamari, are certified halal and free of spirit vinegar or alcohol.

The spicy tuna mixture should be stored in an airtight container for up to two days, but do not reheat it.
