A delightful fusion of flaky, buttery French croissant layers with a satisfying Belgian waffle crunch. This halal-friendly recipe is quick, gourmet, and perfect for family weekend brunch.

Ingredients

Scale

1 pack (8-count) Halal Certified Croissant Dough
2 tbsp Unsalted Halal Butter
1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
1 cup Fresh Berries
As needed Pure Maple Syrup or Honey
Optional Halal Whipped Cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your waffle iron to a medium-high setting and lightly brush the plates with melted halal butter
  2. Separate the croissant dough triangles and roll each triangle from the wide base toward the tip to create the classic croissant shape
  3. Optional: Roll each shaped croissant in a bowl of granulated sugar to create a caramelized exterior
  4. Place the croissants onto the center of the waffle iron and close the lid gently without pressing too hard
  5. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes, or until the croffles are deep golden brown and crispy
  6. Remove the croffles using silicone tongs and cool on a wire rack for one minute before serving with toppings

Notes

Ensure croissant dough is butter-based and pork-free to meet halal standards.

If using frozen dough, let it thaw completely in the refrigerator before rolling.

Avoid the microwave for reheating as it makes them chewy; use an air fryer or toaster oven at 350°F instead.

For a savory variation, skip the sugar and top with a fried egg and halal beef bacon bits.
