A simple, nourishing, and versatile halal-friendly breakfast with a comforting, cake-like texture. This recipe offers three flavor variations—Berry Burst, Chocolate Dream, and Apple Pie Spice—making it perfect for meal prep and picky eaters.

Ingredients

Scale

2 cups Rolled Oats
2 cups Halal Milk
2 large Halal Eggs
1/4 cup Maple Syrup or Honey
1 tsp Baking Powder
1/2 tsp Salt
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
1/2 cup Mixed berries
1 tsp Lemon zest
1/4 cup Halal chocolate chips
1 tbsp Unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup Diced apples
1/2 tsp Ground cinnamo
1 pinch Nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease an 8×8 inch baking dish or individual ramekins
  2. In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats, baking powder, and salt. Mix well
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the halal milk, eggs, maple syrup (or honey), and vanilla extract until well combined
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix
  5. Divide the oat mixture evenly into your prepared baking dish or ramekins
  6. Stir in your chosen flavor add-ins for each section: mixed berries and lemon zest for Berry Burst; chocolate chips and cocoa powder for Chocolate Dream; or apples, cinnamon, and nutmeg for Apple Pie Spice
  7. Bake for 25-35 minutes until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. For individual ramekins, check at 20-25 minutes
  8. Let the baked oats cool slightly before serving warm

Notes

For an even creamier texture, soak the rolled oats in milk for 15-20 minutes before baking.

Avoid overmixing the batter to ensure the oats don't become tough.

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.

Individual portions can be frozen for up to 1 month; thaw overnight in the fridge before reheating.

To reheat, microwave for 1-2 minutes with a splash of milk to keep them moist.
