This Cheesy Bread recipe is a quick, comforting, and universally loved dish, perfect for busy weeknights or as a crowd-pleasing appetizer. Featuring golden crust, gooey melted cheese, and an irresistible garlic aroma, it's prepared with minimal effort and delivers pure joy with every bite.

Ingredients

Scale

1 (12-16 inches) French baguette or Italian loaf
1/2 cup Unsalted butter, softened
46 cloves Garlic, minced
1 1/2 cups Shredded Mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1/4 teaspoon Black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup
  2. In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until well combined
  3. Carefully slice the baguette or Italian loaf in half lengthwise. Place the cut sides up on the prepared baking sheet
  4. Generously spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over both cut sides of the bread. Ensure you get into all the nooks and crannies for maximum flavor
  5. Sprinkle the shredded Mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheeses generously over the buttered bread halves. Cover every inch for the ultimate cheesy bread
  6. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese melts, bubbles, and turns a beautiful golden brown. For extra crispiness, broil for the last 1-2 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning
  7. Remove your hot Cheesy Bread from the oven, slice it into individual pieces, and serve immediately. Enjoy your amazing homemade Cheesy Bread!

Notes

For the most robust flavor, always use fresh garlic. Consider grating your own mozzarella as pre-shredded varieties can hinder melting.

For a crisper bottom crust, place the bread directly on a non-stick baking sheet without parchment paper.

Serve hot out of the oven for the best experience. It pairs wonderfully with tomato soup, minestrone, salads, or any pasta dish.

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a preheated oven (350°F / 175°C for 5-10 minutes) or an air fryer to maintain crispness; avoid microwaving.

Customize by experimenting with different cheeses (cheddar, provolone, fontina), adding a pinch of red pepper flakes, cooked bacon bits, or diced jalapeños. You can also swap the bread for ciabatta or Texas toast, or use a gluten-free baguette for a gluten-free option.

You can prepare the garlic butter mixture and slice the bread ahead of time. Store the butter in the refrigerator and the bread at room temperature, then assemble and bake just before serving.
