Ingredients
1 ½ cups All-Purpose Flour
1 cup Granulated Sugar
1 ½ tsp Baking Powder
½ tsp Salt
½ cup Unsalted Butter
2 Large Eggs
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
¾ cup Milk
1 cup Unsalted Butter (for frosting)
3–4 cups Powdered Sugar
2–4 tbsp Heavy Cream or Milk
1 tsp Vanilla Extract (for frosting)
¼ tsp Pinch of Salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line mini cake pans with paper liners
- Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl
- Cream softened butter until light and fluffy, then beat in eggs one at a time and add vanilla
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk
- Fill pans and bake for 18-22 minutes until a skewer comes out clea
- Cool cakes in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack
- For frosting, beat softened butter until fluffy, then gradually add powdered sugar
- Add salt and vanilla, and thin with cream or milk as needed
- Level cooled cakes, apply a crumb coat, then frost the final layer
- Decorate as desired and chill for 30 minutes before serving
